Belly Dancing is a dance consisting of a limited number of traditional moves , performed in a unending number of combination’s. Although most of the (male) attention is focused on the hip movement, Belly Dancing incorporates every part of the body! Even though I have two left feet, I would learn Belly Dancing just so I could wear the beautiful intricate costumes belly dancers wear! Of course, I would have to hit the gym a few months prior… yet, who are we kidding? You don’t have to be stick skinny to belly dance. In fact, belly dancing is all about celebrating the beauty of a full bodied woman, not a stick figure. So get out there and celebrate!

A belly dancers costume typically consist of a bathing suit coverage top, and a flowing skirt. Many belly dancers accessorize their outfits with colorful dangling scarves and various forms of jingle jangle around the waist. Some women include finger cymbals in order to add to the beat of their dance sequence. So dress up and dance to your own rhythm as you emphasizeyour grace, power and independence as a beautiful woman.
