Mother’s Day Breakfast

“Of all Mom’s Favorite Mother’s Day ideas, the classic is Mother’s Day Breakfast.”

Every mom’s favorite Mother’s Day experience is the classic Mother’s Day Breakfast. This experience takes place where all her favorite memories are made- in the comfort of your own home.There’s nothing quite like waking up on a sunny May morning to the smells of fresh baked french toast. This recipe is delicious and simple to make. Prepare the French Toast Delight the night before, throw it in the oven the morning of, and let everyone relax and enjoy Mother’s Day morning.

Give your mom a break from kitchen and whisk up this delicious and simple recipe that will have your whole family wanting to celebrate mother’s day every day!

French Toast Delight
1 Loaf French Bread
8 Large Eggs
2 cups Half and Half
1 cup Milk
2 Tablespoons Sugar
1 Tsp Vanilla
1/4 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Ground Nutmeg
Dash of Salt
Maple Syrup
1 Pack Cream Cheese (optional)

Recipe: Slice french bread into 20 slices that are 1 inch each. Arrange slices in generously buttered 9-13 inch flat baking dish in two rows, overlapping slices. In a large bowl, combine the eggs, half and half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt and beat with a whisk until blended but not too bubbly. Pour mixture over the bread slices making sure all are covered evenly with the mixture. Spoon some of the mixture in between the slices, cover with foil and refrigerate overnight for optimal flavor. The next day preheat to 350 degrees. Bake for 40 minutes until puffy and lightly golden, and then serve with maple syrup and enjoy! Note: Personal Preference: Chop up one package of Cream Cheese into 1/2 inch cubes and fold into mixture for extra creamy taste.

Light some candles, turn on your favorite music, and get ready to pamper the day away. Spend quality time with your mom as you both indulge in your favorite activities. Here’s a mother’s day recipe that sure to please all!

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

16 ounces milk chocolate chips
2 tablespoons shortening
1 pound fresh strawberries with leaves

In a double boiler, melt the chocolate and shortening, stirring occasionally until smooth. Once the mixture is smooth, dip each strawberry until fully coated in chocolatey goodness. Let cool, enjoy! If you’re feeling motivated, melt white chocolate chips in 30 second intervals in the microwave and then drizzle on top of cooled strawberries.

Mother’s Day Music CD

Burn a CD of you and your mother’s favorite songs. This upbeat music mix will be great to listen along to while you indulge in your Mother’s Day experience. Burn two Cd’s so you’ll both have something to remember this extra special Mother’s Day.

You won’t even have to step one foot out the door to enjoy this indulgent Mother’s Day spa experience! Whip up a few home spa experience recipes and enjoy a day of pampering. Indulge in facials and body scrubs and mix up your own bubble bathconcoctions to take home and enjoy all year round. Here’s one of my favorite facial recipes:

Apple-Pear Anti-Wrinkle Cream

1 tsp apple juice
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp lime juice
2 T buttermilk
1 T rosemary leaves
3 seedless grapes
1/4 pear
2 egg whites

Blend all ingredients in a blender on medium speed for 30 seconds. Using a cotton ball, dab mixture on areas around the eyes and wherever wrinkles have developed. Let dry, then rinse with warm water. Use no more than 3 times a week. Follow with a moisturizer. Cover and refrigerate immediately. Shelf life: 4 days. Recipe thanks to spaindex.com!
