French Toast Delight
1 Loaf French Bread
8 Large Eggs
2 cups Half and Half
1 cup Milk
2 Tablespoons Sugar
1 Tsp Vanilla
1/4 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Ground Nutmeg
Dash of Salt
Maple Syrup
1 Pack Cream Cheese (optional)
Recipe: Slice french bread into 20 slices that are 1 inch each. Arrange slices in generously buttered 9-13 inch flat baking dish in two rows, overlapping slices. In a large bowl, combine the eggs, half and half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt and beat with a whisk until blended but not too bubbly. Pour mixture over the bread slices making sure all are covered evenly with the mixture. Spoon some of the mixture in between the slices, cover with foil and refrigerate overnight for optimal flavor. The next day preheat to 350 degrees. Bake for 40 minutes until puffy and lightly golden, and then serve with maple syrup and enjoy! Note: Personal Preference: Chop up one package of Cream Cheese into 1/2 inch cubes and fold into mixture for extra creamy taste.
