“Take a walk through history with the London Ghost Tours, but beweare as you travel through this ghostly history or you might get spooked!”
When I was around ten years old, my family booked an unforgettable trip to London, England. Many years later, I still remember the vivid images of the various tours we took while staying in the history rich capital London, England. One of my favorite soul shaking tours was the Ghost Tour of the underground prisons in London. The eerie London Ghost tour began as our group descended into the underground tunnel that led to the prison.
Once you were inside, there was no turning back…literally. In order to exit the tour, you must reach the end of the tunnel. This London Ghost tour captured the eerie essence of a ghost tour perfectly. The damp cold air of the underground engulfed the group as we were pushed further into the dark cold prison. Till this day I’ll never forget the strange smell of fake blood (or what I thought was fake blood) that filled the air of this underground terror.
While you walked through the London Ghost Tour at your own pace, you pass by various prison cells and bodies. Different displays were set up throughout the Ghost Tour that depicted the methods of torture in London, England throughout the centuries.
Further into the tunnel there were displays Henry VIII era of “Off with their heads.” Throughout this portion of the ghost tour there were various axes and accurate depictions of people being beheaded!
This vivid London Ghost Tour still shakes my bones till this day. Walking through the underground prison was a very real and educational experience. The ghost tour was set up to actively depict London, England and the prisons in the era of King Henry VIII.
This historically rich city is full of a variety of ghost tours, prison tours, and castle tours throughout England. The London Ghost Tour experience is one that will stick with you forever, and be sure to shake you to the core!
