Gauley River White Water Rafting

The Gauley River is renowned as one of the premier whitewater runs in the world. The river drops more than 668 feet through 28 miles of rugged terrain and features more than 100 white water rapids. The Gauley River passes through 25 miles of the most scenic gorges and valleys of West Virginia. The rivers expansive stretch features class III rapids all the way to class V+ rapids. If you’re a thrill seeker looking for a adventure and turbulent rapids, visit the upper Gauley which offers class III to V+ rapids. If you’re traveling with a younger crowd (minimum age 12-14) check out the lower Gauley, which is a 12-mile stretch of class III to V rapids.

The Gauley River white water rafting season begins the first weekend after Labor Day, and continues for six weekends.
